Pups any day now!

'Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house not one dog was stirring, not even a mouse.

The stockings were hung by the chimney with care, in hopes that St. Nicholas soon would be there.

Sola, Meiko, Isla and Leia were nestled all snug in their beds, while visions of new puppies danced in their heads.

I, in my sweatpants, my toque, and my hood, had just settled in with Meiko, for I knew this was going to be good. When out on the roof there arose such a clatter, I sprang from my cot to see what was the matter. Off to the window I flew like a flash, stumbled over the puppy gates, trying not to crash. The moon on the crest of the new fallen snow gave the lustre of midday to objects below, when, what to my wondering eyes should appear, but a miniature sleigh and eight tiny reindeer.

With a little old driver, so lively and quick, I knew in a moment it must be St. Nick.

With a clatter of bones and a bunch of new toys, He slid down the chimney trying not to make noise. My darling dogs stood there, wagging their tails with a golden tail greeting, happy and eager to find out who they were meeting. St. Nick showed no fear, and he called them by name. He knew of course, these goldens were gentle and tame.

He brought out his list, began checking it twice. “My beauties, I see that all year you’ve been only slightly naughty but mostly just nice. “I have in my bag toys, bones and much more. Please tell me, sweet goldens, what you’re longing for.” Sola talked to Isla and Leia — much to my surprise — And then turned to Santa with joy and hope in their eyes. “We have chewies and balls and ropes to be tugged. We are pampered and snuggled and petted and hugged.

But for Christmas, dear Santa, we have but one care:

For our sweet Meiko to bring puppies with whines and sweet whimpers to fill the air.

“We want puppies so white that they gleam in the snow, all healthy and lively from their head to their toe. We want Meiko to know that we've got her back, all our sweet kisses from this supportive pack. May there be 8, 9 or maybe even 10, we want all to be blessed from the heavens, amen"

St. Nick then turned to me, his face wet with tears: “Be proud of your dogs, they all are magnificent dears.

Meiko's puppies will come, each one a treasure, They will fill homes with joy, love and mass pleasure. With tiny white tails wagging and squinty sweet eyes, they really

are just angels in furry disguise. Don't worry, hold strong as I know without a doubt nothing will go wrong. You'll be blessed with a pile of babies in a few short nights, under the glow of the snow, flurries and lights."

"Now you sweet goldens, go right off to bed, think only good thoughts, and dream only good dreams of running and jumping and playing with puppies in streams.”

In an instant, St. Nick disappeared in a poof, And I heard him laugh loudly up there on the roof. "Now Dasher! Now Dancer! Now, Prancer and Vixen! On, Comet! On, Cupid! On, Donner and Blitzen! To the top of the porch! To the top of the wall! Now dash away! Dash away! Dash away all!" I knew right then what to name these sweet balls of fluff, but of course after Santa's Reindeer! this was clear and not tough.

He jumped in his sleigh, to his team gave a whistle, And off he then flew like the down on a thistle. And I heard him exclaim as he flew out over the moon, “Merry Christmas to all, and to all the reindeer pups showing up soon"

As I alter this age old story I reflect back on the magic of this time and how blessed I am to be able to share this journey with you all. I have the pleasure of working with some amazing families that I am overjoyed to be a part of this season. Time is flying by so quickly as the holidays approach. Lights are everywhere, music fills the air, sleigh rides are offered, ice rinks and holiday carousels are in the park.

Even though no more snow has fallen, the dogs still enjoy the cold morning air. They crawl out of their warm cozy house stretching like how dare I wake them up. They put their noses to the air and they are off in an instant chasing and rolling into each other like it's the best thing in the world. I love that about them. It's the best way to start my morning, watching them pour immense joy all over the place like it was their 1st time or last time on this earth. Sola is delightful and always has my heart, Isla is entertaining and always brings a smile to my face, Leia is a doll and warms my soul every second and Meiko.. well Meiko is always sweet as all get out and touches every heart that she comes in contact with.

Meiko is holding onto these dear babes and making it through each day with her classic smile across her face. She tries not to moan and groan when she moves but you can tell she is starting to feel the weight and size of her growing belly at this point. She really has popped these last few days. Her x-rays that were taken on Tues. showed 9 pups were on their way. She didn’t love the excursion but as always tolerated it the best she could. It was helpful that my daughter was able to be there (on the right in these pics) with her to calm her nerves. We’ll see how close the x-ray images were to actual puppy count in the end!

The nursery space is set up and ready as she sprawls out in her box more and more each day. I spend time sitting in there with her so she grows comfortable with her surroundings. I’m not too sure she really cares about much other than clinging to my side and sleeping right now!

She's always on close watch but she'll be on a heightened watch of course this upcoming week. Her temp currently is stable but it'll be taken more often now that the week creeps on. It'll drop soon before birth and at which time I will stay with her 24 hrs. a day. I will be in closer contact with all the families on this litter list so you won't miss a beat. I am pulling in nothing but the best of everything to have this next chapter go as smoothly as possible. Also feel free on your end to send all your best as well to dear sweet Meiko. These pups will bring in everything as close to perfection as possible. Good looks, strong structure, classic appearance, extreme sweet demeanor, longevity and much much more. Yes, getting a bit excited to meet these arrivals! For me, these pups have been in the making for over a couple of years now so I'm getting antsy!

I hope to bring you all the best of news very soon. I sit back with my patience tested and enjoy my sleep now as I know the week ahead will be a touch trying but the end result be 100 times over the best reward we could ask for.

I wish you all the best time ever putting up your trees, decorating your homes, hanging lights, wrapping gifts and going shopping for your new bundle of fluff coming in oh so soon!
