Noni’s babies are already one week old, fat, happy, healthy, mobile, squeaky and beautifully squashy.

I’ve been living in a bubble this week, not getting much of anything else done around here. Simply sitting on puppy cloud 9.

Newborns are beyond priceless, the tiny loud and mighty squeaks, the sleepy little squishy faces, the little puppy pile, those impossibly cutest ever fatest ever bodies, and the constant little wiggles and wanders as they search for the milk bar. I could sit beside the whelping box for hours just watching them...

ok that is pretty much what I've done all week.

This week was also filled with a gentle rhythm of checking, weighing, making sure everyone is nursing well, keeping everyone warm, comfortable and clean, helping mom keep clean and well fed, changing bedding, and doing all of the little things that go unnoticed from the outside.

Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS) got started here on Day 3 or what we like to call -

Endless Nuzzles and Snuggles,

Essential Nurturing and Snuggles or

Early Nudges and Smothering

Wether we follow the strict ENS program or simply smoosh, smother, snuggle and nuzzle these darling babes, it all matters.

They are absolutely getting plenty of handling, love, nurturing and exposure.

It's crazy how fast these little... littles change from day to day. A pup who was just a little wet wiggly newborn yesterday suddenly is strong and mighty today.... and creeping up on 2 lbs. so fast!

Itty - 1lb. 15 oz

Bitty - 1lb. 7 oz

Buttons - 1lb. 13 oz

Thimble - 1lb. 12 oz

Snippet - 1 lb. 13 oz

Pebbles - 1 lb. 12 oz

Their stubby short legs are way more purposeful and intentional. Their little bodies begin to fill out plump and healthy.  They are working themselves around the box with a mission they need to complete... yes the milk bar!

Meanwhile, Noni has been doing what moms do best—giving these babies everything she has. Yes, she's a first timer but doing everything with strong intuitive intention. It's incredible to witness.

She started off a bit shocked and thrown off her axis but quickly tuned into what these little ones were telling her. That deep intuition kicked in quickly. She keeps her belly on the bedding, careful not to lay on one, as she creeps around the box scooping all the babes into the middle together lining them all up ready for a good long feed.

Watching this intuitive skill play out astonishes me each and every time.

I’m pretty sure I’ve spent an unreasonable amount of time with these littles this week but that's the way its supposed to be.

One week down, and so many beautiful weeks ahead.

These 6 families that got the great privilege to be assigned into this litter are truly very blessed. This is going to be a gorgeous turn out of pups.

Welcome to the world, sweet Noni babies. You have officially stolen my heart—and I’m perfectly okay with that. One week old. One very happy team. And still floating somewhere around puppy cloud 9.
