A little Autumn Quiet & looking ahead

Not a whole lot to report this week as things have slowed down drastically. Everyone has taken a breath and is enjoying the calm stillness that is in the air.

Fall has officially arrived here, bringing brisk mornings that give way to glorious afternoon sunshine. The leaves are changing around us by the minute and falling at even a faster rate. This morning, the heater in the Doghouse was finally turned on, a sure sign that cooler days are here to stay. Of course, the dogs don't seem to mind one bit. They soak up the sunshine, stretching out in their favorite spots and enjoying those warm afternoon rays, but snow could be falling upon them as well and they would still be stretched out like they were on some exotic beach somewhere. They love it all.

With all the puppies now off to their new homes, there's a stillness in the air and an almost eerie quiet around here. After weeks filled of hustle and bustle and back to back busy days, this sudden calm takes a little getting used to.

Noni, however, has bounced back beautifully and quickly from this latest litter. Within days, she's already round and plump again. That girl was simply made to be a mama, and watching her settle back into herself is such a joy. Her and her sister Anya have been wrestling and rolling like they are pups once again. It's the best kind of entertainment around here. Before we know it, spring will be upon us, and we'll be welcoming more little ones from this wonderful line.

But right now in this moment, we have another exciting chapter just around the corner that we're focused on.

Isla's 'The Queen's Final Reign' litter

November 12th is our official puppy watch date, although I'll be watching long before then. The ultrasound images show her little jumping beans bouncing around in there, happy, healthy and ready to bless many families ahead.

Isla's belly bump has begun making a very subtle appearance, and with that comes a little extra food, plenty of rest, and all the comforts a mama-to-be deserves. The nursery, which was just recently cleaned and tidied after our last litter, will soon be transformed all over again. Funny how quickly we go from a freshly cleaned puppy room to preparing for another round of tiny squishies.

This litter is falling into the calendar at the most perfect time possible. Just in time for everyone to get through the commotion of Christmas and then be able to welcome them home during the first week of the new year. No trying to juggle a brand-new puppy with Christmas gatherings, holiday chaos, and all the extra excitement that comes with the season. Instead, families can settle into the new year with a little Cream Puff bundle of their own. I couldn't think of a better way to start the year.

So for right now, we'll enjoy these quieter days. I'll keep blowing leaves off the yard, only to turn around and find another blanket of them covering everything behind me again. I'll enjoy my tea, quieter evenings, and a little extra ball time with my pack while soaking up these beautiful autumn afternoons.

The pace may be slower for now, but there's excitement and new life right around the corner that I'm ecstatic to share with you all oh so soon. The Queens Court is going to be priceless and I cannot wait to meet them all.
