Families came in from all corners to finally get their patties on one of these sweet fat little magical babies. Watching them from afar is marvelous, but there isn't quite anything like actually sinking your nose into the fur of your new fur baby.
Communication with these little ones families has been daily with multiple photos and videos sent out along with an update on how they are doing. Their growth rate each and everyday is extensive so to share this with their families has been incredible and fulfilling. Wouldn't want them to miss a beat!Â
Â
The chance to finally snuggle, squeeze, melt into and share space with these little ones is well... magical. Everything else just settles, smoothes out, becomes less intense and and not as crazy. The magic of a dog.
Smiles are always ear to ear and hands are always extended waiting for their baby to placed in their arms. 'Are you mine?.. or are you mine?' Oh the guessing game continues on who is going to shine for whom. Everyone has been incredibly understanding of my matching process and as patient as they possibly can be while waiting for me to work through the pups and note behaviors, differences and personalities. They'll be a whole other layer added to my process that I very much will put into consideration.. the love factor.. the pull factor. It's not my end deciding factor but I watch energies and see who meshes and where pull is. More importantly I listen intently to added details to stories, to emotions attached and take in dreams wishes and hopes for these new little ones.Â
The rain poured in but a tent overhead and lights hanging in celebration, kept everything bright and upbeat. With a wee pup snuggled in your arms I don't think anyone noticed anything else outside their puppy love bubble.
Each pup was content and loving every squeeze.Â
Once these families come back in 2 weeks these wee little handfuls will be almost full blown little pups.Â
We will repeat these group visits next weekend with the 'Toy' Litter families. And a then once again with the 'Luxury' pup families. Â
By the end of all these visits everyone's cups should be full up just enough to get them through these last few weeks until one of these darling pups gets to go home with these lucky families. Â
I move at a rapid pace to try to keep up with their growth rate and everything and anything they need each and everyday. I throw something at them.. they gobble it up, figuratively and literally and ask for more. Not 1 day later do they need something new. Go! Grow! My little pups!Â
Â
Let me try to recap the week in a nutshell...Â
Walking practice is extremely entertaining as bellies are lifted off the floor a bit higher everyday. My Plant babies have this down pat, the Toy babies are hoping nobody noticed a flop here and there and the Luxury babies are motoring around but flop and spread pretty quick as being flat and content seems pretty fun to them still. Â
They all continue to make laundry my main focus, anything to keep your cozy spaces clean and comfy my darlings!Â
Music pours into their nursery and it's almost as if their tiny voices are harmonizing right along side every note. I have yet to figure out if they prefer classical, country, Disney or thunderstorm tracks. I ask them daily and rotate often. Â
Pedicures are frequent as toe handling isn't a huge favorite amongst any dog really. The dremel came out this week and everyone got primped up and didn't flinch an inch. Baby grinch feet got trimmed back mainly just for the desensitization factor as the extent of grinchiness is of course almost non existent at this point. Â
Â
Food introduction took place this week for the Plant kids and soon after also for the Toy babes. The moment they realize what I'm doing and what I'm offering their bodies go into full quiver shake and wiggle mode. The crate tower got put up for crate training and individual feeding space. The littles can eat in peace at their own pace and get exactly what they need. Bowls get washed, refilled and the Toy pups eagerly repeat the food process. The Luxury pups turn 3 wks. Old tomorrow so they will also join in the food fun here very soon.
Both the Toy and Luxury pups got their small cozy whelping boxes broken down today and potty trays and water bowls got added to their big kid spaces. Such a big chapter ahead!Â
Stroller walks continue for everyone in windows of clear weather. A pup or 2 also always gets to tag along in the snuggle sack which will not last long at the growth rate they are on. Â
Sleeping is always a favorite activity around here with these darlings and the puppy pile continues to get bigger every day. A tiny peek of an eye pops through the fuzz not connecting to a body it seems but asleep and content as ever in the smoosh of the pile. Â
The mamas frequently visit each other's pups but know full well which is their bushel and always go back to their own babes. Tonka has also come in to say hi to his babies and slows right down to a crawl to transfer his amazing energy over to the wee ones. Â
Neema is Tonka's shadow and follows him right into the nurseries but is still very unsure about these odd squeaking potato beings that just don't seem quite like real dogs to her yet. Once they get to play outside with her I'm sure that will all fade into the background and a fast friendship will form with her new baby sister.
Food, potty trays, floors, handling, squishing and squashing will continue to consume my time for the next 4-5 wks.Â
While I do these daily tasks my senses will be heightened and my eyes will be constantly scanning for repeat behaviors and ingrained traits that will help me find families their perfect matches.
Sending this off now before I get behind again!
Enjoy the babies everyone!
