Meiko’s final chapter here with us has finally begun and for many your journey is just starting. Yes, you heard that correctly, Meiko has shifted into gear and we will move into her breeding window here soon. I knew she had to be close by her behavior the last couple of weeks and the fact that she’s never cycled this long before was a sure sign. Yes it was a bit of a wait but the silver lining (as there is always a silver lining) is that we’ll hopefully be beyond all this rain by the time these pups show up!

It’s bitter sweet for me as I have decided that this will be Meiko’s final litter here with us. I am overjoyed beyond belief to be able to bless one more ‘litter’ of families with her exceptional pups. Bitter in the sense of knowing it will complete her time here with us all. This will be the 3rd retiree that I’ve moved on. These 2 girls are in homes beyond what I could have asked for or excepted. Loved and doted on each and everyday, playing, romping, lounging, and basking with their forever families. Yes, Meiko has the perfect forever home lined up for her whom she’s already gone to visit and checked out her new abode. She says she very much approves. I know she will not only be well cared for but adored to no end. This is a bit of a bigger moment to get through but I get through none the less. It’s all part of what I do here to keep up with the quality of care that I put into my dogs and the pups that we raise here. It's truly a win win situation.

These pups ahead will be nothing short of spectacular. Meiko and Tonka’s last litter are all growing up beautifully. Their families are head over heels in love with them all and vice versa.

Looking out into the perfect scenario, if everything goes as planned like we always hope for, these pups should show up around June 9th. We still have tasks to complete and milestones to cross ahead but I will do everything in my power to cross these off with the highest rate of success as possible. Yes, this litter was delayed past what I thought but working with mother nature I have learned to accept what is gifted to me and then look at all the positives of the outcome.

What a beautiful time of year to raise a pup! For me here while they are with me and then as well as for the families that are the lucky ones to be able to be raising these exceptional pups. All these pups are spoken for and have loving, eager and awaiting families for them. I couldn’t be happier with this whole group of families that I get the immense opportunity to work with. It’s going to be a beautiful summer!

Ok are you done reading that? Ready for more news? Are you sitting down? Or should I say, Am I sitting down?! I was hoping that Isla and Leia would follow their last lengthened cycle times as they pulled off last time and they wouldn’t cycle around again until June to space my litters out a bit…. you know how girls like to sync up? Well dog girls like to do the same thing. Hormones are in the air and the energy around here is strong. For all the families that thought they had to wait a couple extra months for their journey to start, they do not. Our Isla girl 2 days behind Meiko indeed has also shifted and will hopefully be bringing pups to our next handful of families a little earlier than expected! Again of course if everything follows the perfect scenario and plans play out exactly as we all hope, we should have double the pups, double the fluff, double the chaos…I mean FUN, ha! I pulled off triple litters last winter without pulling out too much hair, I can certainly pull off a double litter. Let the fun begin!

A huge benefit to the families on these 2 lists is that they will have double the pups to choose from. Double the chance of males vs. Females, light vs. dark, snuggly vs. independent and double the chance to find that perfectly perfect forever ever pup. It’s a massive undertaking to sort this many pups out and help to match these pups but really, it’s plain incredible fun for everyone. The months ahead are going to be nothing short of spectacular. Isla/Tonka pups from their last litter are also beautiful and growing up stunning, sweet, lovely, darling and are shining in the world just like their parents.

Looking over at Leia now I'm wondering…. where am I going to stash you girl to get you away from all this hormone filled air??!! Joking not joking! I'd really like to see her delay her litter until I'm finished with these 2, but knowing full well this decision is completely out of my hands.  We'll see what mother nature has in store for this 3rd litter.

Neema is 9.5 mths now so she very well could be syncing up with these other girls as well here soon but of course she's still growing up and will just be separated from Tonka for now. She’s growing up beautifully and her structure is blowing me away at how built she is. She’s all teenager right now and trying with all her might to teach Anya how to dig holes in the yard at every chance she can get.

Anya, the baby of our pack is not looking very much like a baby anymore.  Robust,  thick, gorgeous and very much a big girl.  She tries her best not to follow Neema and sink her diggers into the sand holes in the yard but it’s SO hard. She pouts as more rocks and stones show up to deter the digging. She has plenty of energy but stays sweet and chill most of the time. Sitting on my feet when she’s not chasing Neema or contently sun bathing off to the side. A perfectly balanced little one.

Tonka is amazing as ever, stealing my heart constantly. I gave him a hose bath outside on one of our nice warm days which he loved. Such a dapper guy. He’s also an eager beaver, quivering and antsy as hormones are thick and strong at the moment.  Easy boy for now!

There is no shortage of golden whirlwinds around here,  wrestling manias, high speed tag games and let's just call the game 'leap frog' amongst everyone! This new energy here right now is very REAL.

As the weather is hopefully turning into warmer days, longer nights, less chill and less rain, we all are looking forward to more sunshine, more sun bathing, more chances for hose baths outside and YES! More puppies here VERY SOON!!!

I have my pairing tasks ahead to make these litters happen so stay tuned for more updates as this process continues. And of course, for the families waiting and/or interested in pups ahead never hesitate to reach out personally for more details, questions, inquiries or any and all of the above. I do have a few placements left within these 2 litters so by all means, reach out at any time! I would love to have the opportunity to get you your next forever after fluff.

So, for now, go and celebrate this next chapter of this next exciting part of this story! I can’t wait for what’s ahead with you all.
