Meiko's 'Plant' Pups 1 wk. old Isla's 'Classic Toys' Pups have arrived

Already almost 1 week has past by for Meiko's 'Plant' babies. Tomorrow marks 7 days of them gracing us with their presence. They have filled out, plumped up, squeaked a thousand squeaks and made their weight chart shine.

Monstera is living up to his name holding strong as the biggest chonkiest boy in town. He is gorgeous and perfectly Tonka. My middle runners are holding ground as a team in a very close tight race, all gaining beautiful and in a very close fashion. My littles, Calla and Fern who are only slightly trailing, bring up the rear nicely. I made sure they got a little extra focused time at the milk bar these last couple of days and now they are right on par. So much growth this week, thriving and changing. I share it all with my families on board each and every day. How can I not share this incredible magic? These little squishy squashies are so captivating that I never get anything done around here. Not because they are consuming all my time but because once I sit down in their box, I can't tear myself away from them.

I absolutely love the network of families and friends that I've helped to create through my extended fur flying family here and within my private group chats. Everyone supports each other through the highs and lows of what's ahead in this journey. One part of being so close in touch with all of my families means that they are also part of my highs and lows as well. This is something that a lot of breeders do not do because often the details involved in the Lows do not have an explanation that is rational or understandable, by the vets themselves let alone by the average person. I run my program by transparency and honesty and you all are a part of my journey as much as I am part of yours.

Having said that, I unfortunately bring you the sad news the dear sweet Philodendron has left this earth and had gone up to the heavens. My whole vet team on board did everything that they could to try to save him as did I. We worked feverishly on him but his little system was just not moving unfortunately. My heart breaks deeply...beyond what I can explain. I fall for these pups so quickly. I hated to see him go. Loss is unfortunately part of what I do but it never gets easier for me.

For these 9 pups that are still in my care I have to accept that some were only meant for higher places. Mother nature is beautiful.. sometimes cruel but not mine to control. Fly high my sweet boy.

I force myself to shift my focus quickly, muster up my strengths again, as the nine pups here are absolutely perfect, stunning, healthy, happy, growing and thriving.

They deserve my full focus. They all got their dew claws removed this week and also started ENS on Fri. (Early neurological stimulation) With these darlings. I love the ENS work as it gives me the opportunity to snuggle more and smash them into my face and into my nose more often.  There's nowhere else I'd rather be.

I dive deep, pull my strengths to the surface, re-center and forge forward.

Round # 2 -

Yesterday a crazy gust of a wind storm brought down an abundance of sticks and pine cones for the dogs to munch up. The air was a bit intense but oddly warm.  In the midst of this intensity, new life shone through.

Our dear sweet Isla brought 9 beautiful pups into this world yesterday.

Isla and Tonka's 'Classic Toys' Gorgeous perfect little creatures.

5 Boys & 4 Girls

The Boys -

Yellow/Tonka Jr.

Dark Blue/Yo-yo

Black/Lego

Brown/Play-Doh

Dark Green/G.I.Joe

The Girls -

Pink/Barbie

Light Green/Gumby

Purple/Pogo stick

White/Slinky

Another perfectly perfect litter that looks so much like their daddy with an overtime of mamas honey coloring.  Pogo is the darkest with a kiss of white at the top of her head.  Not sure if that will fade in time or not. Tonka Jr. And Play-doh are also quite dark. It'll be extremely fun to watch their coloring come in over the weeks ahead.

Isla graced me with a daytime birth which was very kind of her indeed. The wind whipped up the air outside and covered the yard in cedar bits while she covered another corner of the nursery with new gorgeous squeakers.  She did amazing and already loves them to pieces.

2 of my daughters who were standing by, helped me save G. I. Joe as I guess he really wanted to be birthed 'out in the field'! They took Isla out to pee for me while I stayed in with the rest of the babes. Adding to the crazy energy outside, they came crashing back in through the nursery doors with a new wet pup cupped in one set of hands and a placenta in the other set of hands. G. I. Joe is strong and mighty and doesn't care where he gets birthed. Guess he wanted to join the intensity.  Watch out! This boy is on a mission in life!  Thank the heavens for my awesome team on stand by! We picked the sticks out of his hair,  the leaves off his back and threw him back into the mix (okok it wasn't quite that dramatic) but he was perfectly fine after a quick rub down and some extra kisses from mama.

All the pups are doing amazing and are thriving.  We do have 2 littles that kept me awake most of the night. I needed to make sure they were strong enough to latch on their own and were getting front row seats to the milk bar at all times.  Pogo girl is little but Gumby girl is tiny, so I plug them in whenever I possibly can. I'm going to pour everything I've got into keeping them on track and up to speed with the rest of them. Both girls are strong, have massive drive, are hooking up on their own this morning and have made the scale move in a positive direction. By the 3rd or 4th day I’m hopeful they will have caught up with the rest of the pack.

Leia girl should give me at least a couple of days to catch up and rest before she shifts into high gear. She looks up at me with soulful eyes asking me when she gets to join this magical party. You can see the eagerness all over her face. Soon sweet girl soon.

Tonka and Neema have been incredibly respectful of the front door to the nursery. Asking if they can go in but not pushing the boundary line at all. Not yet eager beavers. They continue to love their own little ‘camp life’ together and are very on par with their routine which is crazy helpful.

The mamas are eating like horses already, backing every single raw meatball I can add to their bowls. I feed them pretty much every time I let them outside for a break and they consume it all.

More ENS work today for the Meiko pups. I can’t believe how fat and active they have gotten in 6 short days.

They have changed so much even from their weird squishy squashy newborn mug shot day old photos. So excited to see Tonka shine through in each and every one of these new 18 pups.

Congrats to all the families that are extremely lucky to get their hands on one of these perfect little pups. I will be in touch with you soon with my congratulations!

Gotta run!
