Happy Mothers day to all the amazing exceptionally priceless mothers out there that go above and beyond for not only their beloved kiddos but for everyone else around them as well. Whether you are a human mother or a fur baby mother, its a glorious day. Wishing all the mothers, current and those to be, the best day ever!
In Honor of Mothers Day here's photos of Meiko's, Isla's and Leia's last litters.
People always talk about how time flies; it's become sort of a colloquialism now. You don't really grasp it until well into your life and you turn around, blink a few times and you realize on mothers day your babies are grown adults starting lives of their own. Miraculous, pride soaring, heart string pulling and live combusting in every corner.
On this wonderful Mothers day I am blessed beyond words with everything and everyone around me and yes time has flown.
This week has also flown by. The sunshine made the week glorious and welcoming.
My whole pack here was ear to ear smiles with the warmth and heat around them. They are truly sun worshipers. They spent just as much time right beside me as they did in the sun. Another thing they adore, is to be around me. Another amazing trait of a golden. Truly a steadfast dedicated loyal breed. and no, no snacks were present here.
All 3 expecting mamas are doing excellent. YES! Leia is confirmed prego as well! They are all getting thicker and starting to lose their waist line. That lovely part of pregnancy where the question arises "is she..?" And you keep your mouth shut. Meiko has that first sign of a belly that I always notice where the bottom of her fur on her belly flips out. Isla is not that far off from this sign and Leia will soon follow. The changes to me are obvious but not so much to the outside world yet.
A true belly bump at least on Meiko will emerge this upcoming week. What most people don't realize with dogs is that implantation of the fertilized eggs does not occur until day 18 - 23 days after breeding hence why it takes so long for them to show. So last week when I was able to pick up the 'babies' on the ultrasound, they were barely specks floating in bubbles. This week they are at least peanuts.

So even though a dogs gestation is 63 days long most of the growth only happens the last few weeks. Truly miraculous. Ball play was kept to a minimum these last couple of weeks to keep the mamas safe and calm so nature could do what it does best.
The 'kids' made up for them and tore circles around then all making them tired just watching them.
We unfortunately had to alter our most beloved well known spool village in the center of our yard this week. The bottoms of the spools were finally rotting and the dogs were starting to dig them apart. When they started to chomp on the bits which included nails, there was an urgent call to make a change. It is evident that all my dogs dearly love these platforms so instead of a loss it was only an alternation. The still solid tops were salvaged and put on cider blocks instead. The second platform will go back in today. Neema and Anya thought that playing underneath this platform was an extra special fun addition to the new structure. Plenty of hours were had chasing hiding romping and running around through and under. All were excited with the added new energy of the commotion in the yard. I stand back to save my knees and let the sand fly!
I continue to spend time around me tending to my yard and gardens making sure everything is in order just enough before these pups arrive. Sow seeds, knock back nature that has a persistent fierce drive to continually invade and tend to all the new beautiful growth that buds sprouts and blossoms around me.
As much as I can get done now the better before babes consume me! I am blessed beyond words to be working with another full house this go round. Another group of wonderful families with heart warming stories. Every pup is potentially spoken for now so at this point I welcome families to contact me to be put on a backup list just in case I have a few extra pups available. Once these pups starting showing up June 6th and onward we'll have puppy counts and I'll let everyone know if there is availability or not.
Human and fur baby mothers, and all the families out there...have an exceptional Day!
